Space themed party photo booth

Welcome to part two of Ro’s second birthday party, the photo booth!  I love photo booths.  Call them cliche, call them basic, I don’t care because they are so much fun.  Whether they’re full of props or just a place to document who was there, I think a photo booth is a always great idea.

The hardest part of all of this was definitely getting the little ones to cooperate.  But you do the best you can with what you’ve got which is why the picture of both my boys is Gav with a helmet on from bike riding and Ro trying desperately to get the sunglasses to go on his face.  For my props, I found a few things round the house (i.e. the gold frame and left over party favor glasses).Continue reading

Favorite Valentine DIYs and Freebies

In Uncategorized

That lovey holiday is right around the corner!  Which also makes me think, how in the world are we already at the end of January?!

Today I’m taking a look back a sharing some of my favorite Valentine inspired projects.  No matter how you celebrate or who you celebrate with, it’s always nice to give someone a gift or make something for someone you love.

1. Valentine Love Note Mailbox

I LOVED doing this with my hubby.  In the days leading up to Valentine’s Day we wrote little notes to one another and put them in the box.  Then, when Valentine’s Day arrived, we opened up our letters and read them.  No money was spent, just love shared.  Totally doing this again this year!

2. DIY Valentine Photo Booth

Oh wow, this is definitely a “Flashback Friday”! This simple and easy photo booth set up was so much fun to do because it involved a lot of kisses.  All you really need is a sign (free printable in the original post) and some lipstick.  Squishy, adorable baby cheeks are optional, but highly recommended!

3. Rhinestone Heart Phone Case

So, this is not technically a Valentine project, but a sparkly way to get in the mood for love! I mean, what says “LOVE” more than a shiny, sparkly heart?

4. LOVE-ly Freebies

A round up of free, love inspired prints to decorate to your heart’s content!

5. Heart Stamped Doily Banner

This works great for the photo booth or to decorate your mantel.  Inexpensive and easy to create!

6. Coffee Lid Heart Stencil

When in doubt, just put a heart on it with this DIY heart stencil!  Any plastic lid will work for this project which makes it reusable so you can use it over and over and over…and over!

What are some of your favorite valentine projects?
XO, Kelly

Monster Bash Photo Booth (Part 2: The Backdrop and Pics)

In Uncategorized
I am so happy I did this photo booth!  It was a lot of fun and we came out with some GREAT shots!
For the backdrop, I hung a piece of muslin on hooks and made a ribbon banner and an eyeball banner.
 To make the ribbon banner:
Cut a piece of jute string the length of your photo booth area.
Tie SEVERAL pieces of ribbon along the jute string.
To make the eyeball banner:
Cut a piece of twine the length of your photo booth area.
Glue eyeball cutouts along the length of twine.
You can use a stationary camera on a tripod or leave the camera out for anyone to act as the photographer.  We did the latter.
Here’s what ensued:

And winner for best photo goes to……

Monster Bash Photo Booth (Part 1: The Props)

In Uncategorized
LM’s party is just a few days away and I’m finishing up all of the details.  Since this is a 1 year old’s party, we won’t do much of the usual birthday party things.  The kids will play, the adults will mingle, and we’ll watch a 1 year old open presents and eat cake.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m going to enjoy the bejeezus out of it and I’ll probably cry.  But I thought I’d make it a little bit extra fun for the adults and have a photo booth!
Of course with a photo booth, comes PHOTO PROPS!  So here are my DIY props!
It’s as easy at print, cut, and glue.
We have the classics…
No photo booth is complete without a mustache!
the special monster themed props…
and last but not least a very special prop in honor of the birthday boy!
AND because y’all are so special to me, here are the monster props for you!
