DIY Embroidered Headbands

In Uncategorized

Yesterday I shared these fun headbands over on Pretty Providence.  I love them because, other than the one with script, they’re super simple easy to make and you really don’t have to have any previous experience embroidering anything.  These could also make for a fun gift idea if you went for a single letter monogram!

What You’ll Need: Fabric Headbands, Pencil/White Pen, Needle and Embroidery Thread

All it takes is a little patience, you’re gonna be making a lot of little stitches, and your imagination.  For the full tutorial, head to my post HERE.

Simple lines with bright colors are fun and if you’re feeling really ambitious, as I was, go for some wording!  Since I do a lot of embroidery work for my shop, I went for it, and I love my “mom hair, don’t care” headband.

I’ll be hitting the gym as soon as I’m cleared after RC’s arrival and I’m sure with all that sleep I won’t be getting, my “mom hair” one will be unapologetically true!

DIY // No-Sew Super Hero Cape

In Uncategorized
Lately, Mr. G has started to be really interested in a very super heroes.  Mainly the Ninja Turtles and Hulk and that’s pretty much because they’re green, his favorite color.  I got this idea forever ago when he was invited to a superhero party and decided to finally make it happen.
Now, while Mr. G loves super heroes, he is not into dressing up.  AT. ALL. I mean, he doesn’t even have any interest in picking out his own clothes and don’t even get me started on wearing hats or sunglasses.  So I figured this would be a bit of a shot in the dark if he’d actually wear it.  When I put it on him…
“I want to wear this all the times.” (yes…”times”.  He’s three.)
This cape is a winner in Mr. G’s book and I’ll bet your tot will love it too.  Super easy to make and takes, literally, NO SEWING! Be sure to head on over to Pretty Providence to check out the full tutorial!

What You’ll Need: Oversized T-Shirt, Scissors, Hot Glue, Self Adhesive Velcro, Paint (optional)

Here’s the FULL TUTORIAL on Pretty Providence!

Super G is pretty happy with his cape if you can’t tell.  This could also have something to do with the fact that to get some picture on a rainy day, I let him run in the house!

Need a last minute Mother’s Day gift?  What you make something for that special teacher?  I think these frames make the perfect DIY gift!  These are easy to make and can be personalized however you like.

I made this one for my mom since I wanted to give her something this year to incorporate our new edition.  This is also special because, as a mother of only one, my mom is getting a second grandchild!  She is beside herself excited!

This DIY also comes with a FREEBIE!  Don’t see your special grandparent name?  Let me know and I’ll be happy to whip one up just for you!

Can’t wait to give this to my mama and see it in her classroom!  Also, I wish we had a name to put on here instead of “Baby”, but we’ll find out the gender the DAY AFTER Mother’s day.  It’ll serve as a fun memory for when we found out what our second bundle of love is!

DIY Spring Terrarium

In Uncategorized

Spring is technically here but for most of the east coast, it seems, our weather missed the memo!  Especially those still getting snow.  I can’t even imagine that right now.  Here in GA, it finally starting to warm up and snow has long gone and made way for some gnarly rain but we’re getting there.

So, with that being said, I wanted to share with you a way to add some whimsical Springtime cheer to your indoors no matter what it may look like outdoors!  Check out my post on Pretty Providence this month for the FULL TUTORIAL.

You could also use these for fun centerpieces for baby/bridal showers, decor for a nursery, or even last minute Easter tablescapes for this Sunday.

Happy (pretty much/almost/technically) Spring to everyone!

I know what you’re thinking…a post on Thursdays?!  I thought you didn’t post on Thursdays!  I don’t but I had to share this fun DIY I did for my girls over on Pretty Providence.  It’s their blog birthday week so be sure to check out the amazing giveaways they have going on too!  I love how it turned out and it features one of my favorite people in the world, Mr. G. Also, I’m leaving tomorrow open for a fun announcement! (the suspense!)

I think this cartwheelin’ cake topper would be a great way to add a whimsical touch for a mothers/fathers day treat or even a grandparent’s birthday since most of them don’t really want the candles anyway!

Look at that happy little face!

So head on over the MY POST on Pretty Providence for the full tutorial and be sure to drop by again tomorrow for the announcement!

I love to be cozy and with the weather here in GA finally hitting it’s winter stride, cozy is my middle name.  Blankets, sweaters, slippers, and all the warm fuzzy things in the world!  Slippers are definitely one of my favorites though and I recently bought a new pair for this year since last year’s were worn down to nothing.  They were very comfy but pretty boring.  So I jazzed them up for a fun DIY for my gals over on Pretty Providence!
