Office Tour

Gav + Ro Office Tour

I have been sitting on this project for months now and have finally gotten around to taking pictures. MY OFFICE. This has seriously been a labor of love as I’ve always wanted my own creative space. I had one when we moved into our house almost 5 years ago but it was just the built-in unit in our basement. And not to sound ungrateful or anything but it was the ugliest, yellow-y, varnished wood built-in unit. Sorry, original house builders of 1984! After a long process of redoing our basement, I got my dream space that is the girliest corner of my all boy house. My old office was horrible and it got really messy. I even considered contacting some Commercial Office Cleaning Services in London to come and clean it for me but I tidied it myself and began renovating the new office. Here’s how I ended up getting my special space.

About a year and a half ago, we finally decided to do something about the flooding in our basement. Whenever it would rain just a little too much, we would get little puddles that seeped in through the walls. A couple of rugs and one huge downpour later, we were done. We gutted the walls (ugly built-in included!) and had Aquagaurd (not sponsored, by the way) demo the the perimeter of our tile floor. From there, we got the draining system our basement so badly needed and now I don’t freak out when it rains.

Once all the tile/drywall/paint was put back in order, we had a blank slate! So what were we going to do with it? The playroom got moved into main living space with the TV. You can see what the playroom looks like now in my playroom tour post. And the old playroom space? That’s now my office! So without further ado, here is my creative space where all the magic happens!

I’m so in love with this space of mine and I suppose that’s a good thing since I spend a large amount of time in here. Do you have your own creative space?
