*Thank you to VIIcode for sponsoring this post. The following is my 100% my honest opinion.
One of my smaller goals for this year is to do exactly what the title says, doing better for my skin. Why a smaller goal you may ask? Because, a lot of the time, doing better means getting better quality products which means dollar amounts higher than I’m used to. I want to do all the things that are better for my skin, especially now that I’m in my thirties (technically the beauty world says you should be using wrinkle cream in your 20s but whatever), but my budget just doesn’t allow me to completely overhaul my beauty routine with top of the line products. So, for now, I’m doing two things and today I’m sharing with you number one.
I’ve started using eye cream. I always thought this was something that you used once you are in your 50s or so but, obviously, that’s not the case. You can’t use a preventative product after you’ve acquired what it’s suppose to prevent! Well you can, it just takes longer to see results. As I got into my 20s, and was still reading all the beauty magazines like it was my job, I found out that the earlier you use the good stuff on your skin, the longer you’ll reap the benefits. Totally makes sense now but to a young 20-something me, I was never going to age and would look like a fresh faced teenager forever. Ha!
Flash forward to my early thirties and enter VIIcode T2 Oxygen Eye Cream. I’ll be perfectly honest with you and tell you that, with products that are meant to reduce the look of anything, I get skeptical. Not a great attitude to have but also probably why I haven’t tried this kind of product until now. I was advised to use the product for 20-30 days and access any change in the appearance of the area under my eyes. (side note: 20-30 days always sounds so long and probably another reason why I’m just now doing this. Seriously y’all…I have no idea why my brain works the way it does.)
A special feature of VIIcode T2 Oxygen Eye Cream is the unique crescent activation strip. The strip is a massage tool you can use to glide around the eyes. It can be used to smooth and refresh eye area first or to apply the eye cream. It’s such a cool little tool and I used both it and just my ring finger. I learned a long time ago that that is the best one for under your eyes because it uses the least amount of pressure. I prefer using my finger just because it’s faster for me.
So, did I see results?
Yes! These pictures are as real as they get. I have zero make up in each, they are unedited from my phone, and I’m not smiling so the area is as undisturbed as possible. You can see that my under eye area (especially the right one) has smoothed out a bit in just under the 30 days. They are a little brighter too which is another plus! Let’s be real here, tired mama eyes are crazy and I thought it would take much longer than 30 days to fix anything! Also, as a mom, I’m not into adding something to my care routine that’s going to take more time but this fits in just fine. I put lotion on at night after washing my face anyway and this is just two little dabs extra. Easy-peasy!
What about you, have you started using an eye cream? If so, when did you start?
What other easy changes have you made to do better for your skin?
