Cookie Decorating and Egg Hunt Party

I love celebrating holidays.  Not necessarily in huge ways but I do enjoy heart shaped items for Valentine’s day, green colored things for St. Patrick’s day, pumpkins, and fireworks…you get the idea.  That’s why I started my cookie tradition with Gav.  I was able to take those little pieces that I love and turn them into a tradition.  There are a few holidays, however, that I enjoy more than others.  Christmas is pretty obvious, but I also really enjoy the Easter season.

Our faith is a big part of our life so Easter is naturally an important holiday to us.  But, I really do enjoy all of the other bits that go along with the holiday.  Beautiful spring colors, egg hunts and bunnies (not sure where someone came up with that but I’m not complaining), and Easter baskets.

This year I decided to take my cookie tradition to the next level with Party City.  They have the best selection of party supplies and it really is your one stop shop!  You can stick to one whole themed set or mix and match them.  From plates to wall decor, yard signs to complete Easter egg hunt kits, you can get all you need except for real live bunnies!

The kids throughly enjoyed themselves decorating the cookies and even eating the leftovers. (i.e. licking all the frosting and downing cupfuls of sprinkles)  Even the grownups enjoyed joining in sugary fun!

Then it was on to the hunt!  My advice, if you have varying ages, is to lay some eggs out in the open for the 2 and under crowd and let them go first.  You can decide how you go up in age from there.  I don’t think I will ever tire of hearing the delighted squeals of the kids as they find hidden eggs.  It was just as much fun for me as it was for them.

Once they were all found, it was time to check out the loot.  Party City has a wonderful selection of egg fillers and not all of them candy.  (Thank goodness!) The bunny jumpers and mini self inflating balloons were a huge hit!

Thanks so much to Party City for inspiring this super fun, EGG-cellent party!

XO, Kelly
