Another 3 Year Old Anecdote

At the beginning of every class I ask my kids to show me a specific step and answer a question.  Usually it’s “What’s your favorite color?” kind of questions.  This is how we take attendance and get into class.
A couple of weeks ago I asked my favorite question.  “What do you want to be when you grow up?”  I absolutely love the answers I get!
Typically, since the main age I teach is 3-4, what they want to be is either a princess or something that looks like this:
That’s a dancer/singer/artist/firefighter.  Totally plausible.
This year was so much fun I had to share.  Here’s what I got:
The fantasy:
Princess
Princess Butterfly
Pirate
Fairy
The realistic:
Mommy (or “Just Like Mommy”)
Teacher
Dancer
Doctor (also heard this year ” a doctor getting out babies”)
Vet (also pronounced “vegetarian”)
Farmer
Police Officer
Fire Fighter
Horseback Rider
Cowgirl
** most of these were said all together by one child**
The kids who…didn’t understand the question?:
Swim
Soup
Horse
Cat
and my personal favorite…
COW
(but this is her answer for everything)
Gotta love ’em!
